An Australian leading expert addresses employment law audience

On 30 November, 2011 the Employment Law Forum of the New Zealand Work and Labour Market Institute welcomed Professor Andrew Stewart from the University of Adelaide. Professor Stewart spoke on the topic ‘Regulating for Productivity: What's Wrong with the Australian Fair Work Act?’

AUT senior law lecturer Pam Nuttall and convenor of the Employment Law Forum introduced Professor Stewart and welcomed the audience of more than 30 academics and professionals. We were honoured to have three Judges from the Employment Court attend the seminar along with representatives from law firms, unions, the Employment Relations Authority and the Department of Labour. Members of the AUT Law School were also present.

Professor Andrew Stewart is one of Australia's leading experts in employment law and workplace relations. He is the John Bray Professor of Law at the University of Adelaide, consults to law firm Piper Alderman and is the President of the Australian Labour Law Association. He worked as a consultant to the federal government in relation to the drafting and structure of the Fair Work legislation.
